This is a chance to get an idea of the show and meet the production team.   This will give you a chance to hear the songs in the show and listen to some example sketches from the script.  It will also be a chance for you to ask any questions you have about the rehearsal process, membership and show costs.

Auditions

Sunday 7th September. 10:30am – 3:00pm St Mark Hall, Hinton Wood Avenue, Highcliffe, BH23 5AA.

Info

For those who are not familiar with a HCP revue, it is an ensemble show with the cast expected to sing, dance and act.

It is a fast-paced production with quick changes and a ‘cosy’’ dressing room.

If you are successful in casting, once you have been allocated your sketches, you will be expected to learn your sketches at home ready for when we run them.  That way, we can then focus on singing and dancing at rehearsals and revisit the sketches once they are learnt.

Auditions will be open this year and each auditionee will need to sing on their own or in a duet (as long as the duet has some solo elements to show off your voices) and perform a sketch.  Please wear suitable shoes and clothing for dancing and bring a drink if you wish (tea & coffee will be provided).

You may choose whatever song and sketch you want …. But we would ask you to give some thought to the song that you choose to sing and that it fits this type of show (comedy, upbeat).  There will not be a pianist, so please being backing tracks on a device.  We will provide a sound engineer to play the track for you.  If you have anything other than an iphone or android phone – can you please let us know so we can sort the technical leads needed etc.

Please also note that your singing audition will be 1 minute 30 secs (max). This is simply for time restrictions and no reflection on your audition, so please be prepared for us to stop you.

You can choose your own sketch to perform and this can be either a solo sketch or with someone else. If you need the audition panel to read in for your sketch, then this will be fine.  We would ask if the sketch is no longer than 3 mins.
